Review: YSL Rouge Volupté 3 Ultimate Beige

Hey Beauties!!,

I am currently in love with anything nude and have been very naughty as I have recently splashed out on an expensive nude colour lipstick. After rustling through all the beauty counters in London I decided on the YSL Rouge Volupté in "3-Ultimate Beige".

When I first tried this lipstick I fell in love straight away, when applying it the lipstickis just glides on and coats the lips beautifully. I love that it is light but still has a rich creamy texture which is one of the requirements I have when it comes to finding the perfect lipsticks.

I never used to use lipsticks in the past as my lips have a tendency to become dry quite quickly and therefore I was always a gloss girl. However I must say this particular lipstick is great as it keeps my lips moisturized whilst giving them a radiant nude colour.

Another winning factor for me was the gorgeous packaging, I've always been a fan of the packaging for YSL make-up. YSL's packaging just oozes glamour and chic which represents the quality of its products.
I know this is going to come across a little shallow but as much as I wanted the nude lipstick because it was a great product, I equally wanted it because the packaging was so beautiful and I would use any excuse to pull it out of my make-up bag to show it off.

I give this Lipstick a 9/10 all round for the quality of the product and the beautiful appearance.

I would definitely repurchase this again, and I will also consider trying other shades. Do bear in mind that even though this lipstick is beautiful it does come at a hefty price of £24.50.

Must have beauty Tools!!

Hey Beauts!! One thing I truly believe in when it comes to your beauty tools is invest in quality and don’t base your decision on the price. Just remember that if you have good quality tools they will last longer and if they do carry a hefty price tag, I’m sure you will guard it with your life.

These are by far the best Tweezers I’ve ever had! Whether it be plucking out a few stray hairs or re-shaping my eyebrows these are a god send. I’ve had these Tweezers for over 8 years and not once have I needed to get them sharpened and they still have a great pinch on them. I say everyone needs one of these.

These eye lash curlers help me to lift my tiny lashes; they’re great when I want to open up my eyes. They definitely help just before I apply my mascara when I’m trying to create the illusion that I have longer lashes.

I use this Jemma Kidd Stippling brush to smooth over any remaining line once I've applied my tinted moisturiser. I got this brush years ago and i'm not sure if its still around similar here

To apply my bronzer I use Shu Uemura’s natural brush. I adore this brush with its Goat bristles as it applies the bronzer beautifully and feels so soft on your skin.

As I've previously stated this Bobbi Brown face blender brush is perfect when applying my shimmer brick and highlighting certain areas of my face.

Hands down BobbiBrown have to be one of my favourite make-up brands. I love that they are known for enhancing and emphasising a woman’s natural beauty, which is the look I tend to go for hence why my make-up bag mostly consist of Bobbi Brown products.

I recently bought this Bronzing powder in the “Golden Light” colour. I use this bronzer for my daily make-up regime as it gives my oily skin a beautiful soft silky matte finish. If I fancy a more tanned look, this bronzer gives me no problems when building it up to my desired colour.

I apply the bronzer with this amazing Bobbi Brown bronzer brush, I believe it is important to invest in good quality make-up brushes to achieve the flawless look.

This BobbiBrown shimmer brick has been a staple in make-up bag for many years, I can’t live without it. I have bought almost every colour it comes in. I use the shimmer brick as a highlighter when I want to enhance my cheekbones it gives me that instant glow. It also doubles as an eye shadow.

As much as I love Bobbi Brown the “Everything mascara” didn't sweep me off my feet. Unfortunately it wasn't able to lengthen my short stubby lashes which it promises to do. However I was pleased with how it thickens my lashes.

Review: Benefits "They're Real" mascara

Hey lovelies!! So I decided to try out the Benefits No.1 best-selling mascara "They're Real" because let’s face it these short stubby lashes I have need as much help as they can get.

Not only have I read rave reviews on it a lot of people around me claim it to be an amazing mascara, so as I’m always on the lookout for a god send in this department I thought it best to try it out.

First impressions when I got my hands on it was pretty packaging, I hope the end result is as pretty as its packaging.

At the moment I use the Dior Iconic and the brush on “they’re real” are almost the same as they both have the silicone head and the bristles are separated, which I love as it helps when it comes to lengthening my lashes.

I must say I was pleased with the results of this mascara as it certainly lengthened my short stubby lashes without the clumpy effect that other mascaras do. This mascara is easy to apply whilst lifting and lengthening each strand in a beautiful jet black colour.

I would say the only flaw of the Benefit “They’re real” mascara is I found the brush slightly uncomfortable when I was applying the mascara, but other than that this might have to become a make-up staple for me.

What's in my make-up bag today

I absolutely adore this Longchampcase le pliage, which I use as a make up bag you can fit everything in, great for travelling or for everyday.

So let’s have a peek what’s inside, haven’t got that much in here today as I am wearing very light make-up. I went for a very soft natural dewy look which is great if you want the natural effortless look.

I started off with bronzing my face all over as a base. I used Guerlain’s Terracotta 4 seasons bronzing powder in “Natural 02”. When I apply this powder I keep building it up until I get the colour I want.

I then added definition to my eyebrows using Estee lauders “automatic brow duo” in soft brown. I find this brow pencil gives off a very natural look as I find some pencils give off a very harsh look. If you wanted a stronger looked you can just build it up and I like to add a bit of water to my eye brows.

For my lashes I went for Estee Lauder’s “sumptuous extreme” mascara. I have miniscule lashes so this mascara gives me extra length and volume without clumps.

On my cheeks I dusted them with Mac’s “mineralize blush” in “warm soul”, it has a shimmery effect which I find helps give the dewy look. 

I applied it with my angled conture brush by mac, to help enhance my cheek bones.

Lastly I finished off with No7 high shine lip crayon in “daydreamer”.

Review: Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer

I’ve been on the lookout for an amazing tinted moisturizer, so after months and months of research I thought I finally found it. I decided to go with the Laura Mercier brand as the range seemed to have raving reviews.

I started my relationship off with the “Tinted moisturizer SPF20” in Bisque, I loved the texture, feel and of course the look. Unfortunately I discovered that I was matched to the wrong colour and I should’ve gone for the shade darker.  So with the determination to make this relationship work I returned to the Laura Mercier counter to purchase another tinted moisturizer this time the “Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20” in Golden radiance. I fell in love with this instantly because it has a beautiful subtle shimmer, which gave me the glowing/dewy look that I love, perfect to enhance your holiday tan or a pick me up in the dull winter days.

When I was using this product I started to notice I was getting a lot of sore and very red spots on my face especially on my forehead, I blamed everything else but my beloved tinted moisturizer. I even changed my moisturizing cream, face wash and washed my make-up brushes more frequently. You name it, I did it. In the end I stopped using the tinted moisturizer and my face cleared.

 As I have oily skin I thought I would go back and now purchase the oil free version as well as a primer in the hope that this would solve my problem. Unfortunately as much as I would love to keep using this product my skin just does not agree with it. However, I would definitely recommend this to anybody that doesn’t have sensitive skin like mine because it is a beautiful product.

So the search continues to find the perfect tinted moisturizer!!!
